Brewski Menagerie

On Friday August 10, 2012 there will be a new kind of species on display at the LA Zoo. The Inebriated Homo Sapiens Sapiens will gallivant rampantly throughout the animal park because the second annual Zoo and Brew will begin at 6 PM and last until 10 PM at the Los Angeles Zoo. At the Zoo and Brew there will be a variety of pub style food available for purchase and will feature 26 local breweries offering samples of their craft and microbrews. Additionally, there will also be live performances from an array of comedians from the Laugh Factory, local bands, and DJ Morning Star of Las Vegas.  Presale tickets can be purchased from the website and range from $20 for designated drivers to $40 for general public and $30 for brewery members/staff. Door price will be increased by $5. Definitely an event that should be attended and noted in your calendar however, please remember not to feed the animals.

A Bevy of Local Musical Talent

Did you know this past weekend was the fourth annual Make Music Pasadena festival? Which is a FREE (yes free) day long concert featuring over fifty amateur and local bands scattered throughout 37 unconventional performance areas and stages. Bands played in alleys, book stores, churches, and even rooftops. Make Music Pasadena was Saturday June 16th and it ran from 11AM to 11 PM. Make music pasadena follows in the footsteps of French born music festivals called FĂȘte de La Musique which began in 1982 and currently still brings musicians and fans together for free.  http://www.makemusicpasadena.org/inthenews.html If you have never been to one of these music festivals you really should experience its unique relaxed feel. You can walk from performance to performance and be in the eye of a musical tornado.

Only The Strong Survive

After much time has passed I have decided to stop depriving the world of the thoughts that ooze out of my brain like the sweet nectar of life's observations that they are. You're welcome! I promise to keep myself more involved with blogging and updating. Fake girl scouts' honor! Since I have last blogged a lot has happened in my life as I am sure is the same for you. I will just give you the cliffs notes so as not to draw it out. I ended a few jobs, started a few more, reacquainted my self with old friends and made new ones, I began to work out at a crossfit gym and I am now addicted. I began to write for a new blog focusing on lady Los Angeles and all her glory, the topics I will headline are "Day Time Fun" and "Bars" I will be posting links to that blog when it goes live. Oh and I went to bartender school which was fun and on occasion I mix at private parties. I still have an awesome boyfriend, and amazetastical friends, and a hopelessly whimsical family. So I guess that's the gist of it but if anything else comes up I may include it in future posts. I think I may take a new approach to this blog also so that I get more posts I will try writing smaller entries. Bite size blogs if you will.

It feels good to blog for my self again even if its only just for a little bit I feel pleased knowing that I am making an effort to strengthen my little space on the internet. Because only the strong survive...
